Description
The implementation of the LEADER development strategy 2014–2020 in Baden-Württemberg supports publicly and privately initiated projects that are realized based on regional development strategies within one of the 18 LEADER action areas. Projects from the fields of infrastructure, agriculture & rural development, regional promotion, women's advancement, urban development & urban renewal, as well as labor & social affairs are funded. The goal is to strengthen local networks, advance village and cultural renewal measures, support sustainable nature conservation, and promote the equal participation of women in rural areas. Eligible applicants are natural persons, partnerships, as well as legal entities under public and private law with headquarters or branches in Baden-Württemberg, as well as LEADER action groups organized as associations, community foundations, or limited liability companies (GmbH). The funding initiative is supported by the Ministry of Food, Rural Areas and Consumer Protection Baden-Württemberg and approved by the regional councils of Baden-Württemberg.
Applications are submitted continuously within the framework of regular project calls at the regional management of the respective LEADER action group. A positive resolution by the responsible selection committee and the implementation of the project within one or more LEADER areas are prerequisites. Individual projects with total costs of up to a maximum of EUR 1 million are eligible for funding; the amount of the grant depends on the respective measure. From conception through cooperation projects to technical implementation, the program supports diverse initiatives for the sustainable strengthening of rural living spaces. Through close support by the LEADER action groups and the state administration, it is ensured that each project contributes precisely to the regional development strategy and creates lasting impulses for the rural region.
