Funding objective
The state of Schleswig-Holstein supports the implementation of administratively approved integrated development strategies (Active Regions) within the framework of the LEADER program. Funding is provided for projects implementing the development strategies, cross-regional and transnational cooperation, as well as ongoing costs and measures for capacity building and awareness-raising in the local action groups.

Funding requirements

- Financial own contribution of at least 10% of the eligible expenses
Description
The program supports locally anchored local action groups (Active Regions) in Schleswig-Holstein in the implementation of administratively approved integrated development strategies. Projects that advance climate change and energy efficiency, strengthen sustainable public services, stimulate growth and innovation, and promote educational initiatives are funded. Grants can be applied for specific projects within the development strategies, for cross-regional and transnational cooperation, for ongoing costs of the local action groups, as well as for measures aimed at capacity building and awareness-raising. With a funding rate of up to 90 percent, the program offers a comprehensive financial framework to make rural areas future-proof and improve the quality of life in the regions.
Eligible applicants are natural and legal persons under private and public law who have their registered office or area of activity within the territorial scope of an Active Region in Schleswig-Holstein. A prerequisite for funding is an integrated development strategy approved by the administrative authority as well as a positive resolution by the decision-making body of the local action group. A personal contribution of at least 10 percent of the eligible expenses must be demonstrated. Submission and review of funding applications take place continuously before the start of the project, enabling flexible project planning.
