Description

The environmental funding of the City of Graz grants a subsidy in the federal state of Styria for the retroactive insulation of the top floor ceiling of old buildings. This funding program in the thematic areas of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency & Climate Protection is aimed at private individuals, companies, and non-profit organizations as well as condominium owners, owners of old buildings, primary tenants, housing developers, non-profit institutions and associations, and residential communities with at least two main residences. The objective of the measure is to increase energy efficiency in living spaces through improved thermal insulation. The subsidy covers up to 20 euros per square meter of insulated area, a maximum of 50 percent of the eligible costs, and up to a total amount of 3,000 euros. The free application can be submitted electronically between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2026.

Prerequisites for the grant are retroactive thermal insulation with a U-value of no more than 0.16 W/m²K or a minimum insulation thickness of 25 cm, a building permit submission date before January 1, 2000, and proof that the rooms below serve a permanent residential or non-commercial use. Ceiling construction and fire protection must comply with all legal requirements. Residential communities are considered provided they consist of at least two independent households. The application must include a fully completed application form, detailed invoices, proof of the building permit submission date, confirmation of the insulated area, a specialist company’s certification, and photographic documentation.
