Description
The grant for the support of endangered women and their children funds the Salzburg women’s shelters with a total of 82 places across three protective accommodations. Applicants can partially cover personnel and structural costs through medium-term service agreements. The objective is to provide time-limited, protected accommodations as well as impact-oriented counseling and support for women affected by or threatened with psychological, physical, or sexualized violence, including their children. The program also ensures that migrant women and their descendants receive adequate protection spaces and professional support, thereby sustainably contributing to strengthening the regional women’s infrastructure in the state of Salzburg.
A prerequisite for funding is a regional scope of impact within Salzburg as well as sound knowledge of female living and socialization conditions. Professional service delivery, cooperation with other women’s institutions, gender mainstreaming, and compliance with the prohibition of discrimination according to the Salzburg Equal Treatment Act are mandatory. Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations, associations, and interest groups. Fundable items include personnel expenses and structural costs, which are covered within the framework of medium-term service agreements through Department 2/05 Women, Diversity, and Equal Opportunities. The electronic application (eGov form eg_0216_V1_0) including project description, financing plan, balance sheets, and report form as well as the proof of use (eg_0222_V1_0) must be submitted by June 30 of the previous year. Based on § 18 of the Salzburg Social Support Act and the General Funding Guidelines of the State of Salzburg, the funding has been available indefinitely since June 3, 2013, and sustainably supports protection and counseling services for vulnerable women and families in Salzburg.
