Description

Funding in Carinthia is aimed at non-profit organizations and private individuals when the welfare of the child is at risk and remedial action can be taken within the family environment. It provides children and adolescents up to the age of 18 with comprehensive educational support, including vocational training and further education measures, therapeutic treatments, as well as semi-residential and mobile care services. Socio-pedagogical family support and outpatient parenting counseling offer preventive assistance to avert family overload and counteract neglect. The services are provided by private and non-profit providers of child and youth welfare and are billed via invoicing, usually on an hourly rate basis.

Applications can be submitted at any time, as there is no application deadline. For approval, a main residence or habitual residence in Carinthia and the presence of a child welfare risk are required. Personnel expenses and material costs are funded to ensure needs-based support for affected families. Professional supervision and invoice control guarantee compliance with the legal provisions according to the Carinthian Child and Youth Welfare Act (K-KJHG). The goal is the sustainable protection of children and adolescents from violence and neglect as well as the strengthening of family resources. Interested parties can find information and support at Department 4 of the Carinthian State Government – Family Support, Child Protection, and Child and Youth Welfare.
