Support for Regional Development

The funding aims to support innovative pilot projects in the field of European and national regional development. In Upper Austria, public institutions and non-profit organizations are particularly classified as eligible for funding. With a total volume of 0.2 million euros, projects are supported that pursue new approaches to strengthening community and enhancing inter-municipal cooperation. The grant is awarded within the framework of an individual decision by the Upper Austrian state government based on the General Funding Guidelines of the State of Upper Austria. The funding amount is paid out upon proof of incurred costs, with reporting and, if applicable, on-site inspections ensuring performance control.

The main interested parties for funding are municipalities and regional development associations that can demonstrate the pilot character of their idea and submit a detailed project description. Applications can be submitted continuously once the deadline opens on 01/01/2025. An application form completed with a clear presentation of the project objective and planned measures must be submitted as application documents. This is intended to set sustainable impulses for rural regions and enable enhanced networking between municipalities. The path to strengthening regional structures is actively facilitated through this financial support and invites the realization of forward-looking concepts.
