Description

The German Foundation for Young Adults with Cancer offers a nationwide funding opportunity through its program Support & Cooperation for research and innovative projects addressing the life situation of 18- to 39-year-olds with cancer. In addition to non-material support through increased reach via social media channels, newsletters, and the study portal of the Young Cancer Portal, selected scientific studies may also be financially supported in individual cases. The goal is to gain relevant insights in the fields of health, counseling, and care for young adults, to strengthen networking structures, and to establish long-term collaborations between universities, clinics, and non-profit organizations. Ongoing submissions allow for timely decisions by the foundation’s committees and flexible project development.

Eligible for funding are educational institutions, non-profit, and public organizations that submit a research or project concept with a high degree of innovation and scientific quality. Key criteria include a clear thematic focus on young adults with cancer, a methodologically sound design, and the expected gain in knowledge. The application requires a completed and signed project summary form, which serves as the basis for decision-making. Applications can be submitted at any time; while the foundation relies on a straightforward process for purely non-material support, a separate review is initiated for financial grants. This holistic approach promotes the visibility of new research initiatives and strengthens collaboration among all stakeholders in the fields of science, health, and work & social affairs.
