Support for Animal Health Service

The funding program "Support for Animal Health Services" in Lower Austria supports recognized animal health services within the framework of health programs for the prevention and control of animal epidemics. Public institutions and companies can apply for grants on an ongoing basis to implement measures for the prevention and containment of animal diseases. The aim of the funding is to minimize the risk of animal epidemics through targeted programs and thereby secure the health of livestock populations in the long term. The funding measure is divided into the thematic areas of Health as well as Work & Social Affairs and is based on the provisions of the Animal Health Service Ordinance 2009 and the Ordinance of the Federal Minister of Health on the Recognition and Operation of Animal Health Services (TGD-VO 2009).

Interested institutions must be recognized as an animal health service in accordance with the aforementioned ordinances in order to submit an application. The responsible funding authority is the Office of the Lower Austrian State Government, Finance Department (F1). Applications can be submitted at any time without a deadline; approval is granted following a professional review of the submitted documents. With this funding, the State of Lower Austria makes an important contribution to preventive epidemic management and thereby strengthens the veterinary infrastructure in rural areas. The long-term duration and continuous availability of the grant ensure reliable planning and implementation of animal health programs.
