Description
The funding program supports Viennese training companies in taking on apprentices for the first time or after a break of at least five years, thereby securing the future skilled workforce in the Vienna region. Within the framework of a one-year project duration, the gross apprentice wages including ancillary wage costs for the first year of apprenticeship are covered. This direct grant funding aims to motivate companies to offer apprenticeship positions that particularly benefit young Viennese apprentices. Applications can be submitted within three months after the apprentice’s probationary period has ended and are made to the Vienna Employees’ Promotion Fund (waff). Coordination with the federal basic funding is taken into account to ensure that the total funding is optimally tailored to the individual internal needs of the company.
All Viennese training companies pursuant to § 2 BAG with headquarters or business premises in Vienna that are training apprentices for the first time or have not employed apprentices in the last five years are eligible for funding. A prerequisite for application, in addition to taking on apprentices residing in Vienna, is the timely submission of the following documents: completed application form including declaration of commitment, determination notice (if applying for the first time), and wage slips for the first three payroll months. Applications can be submitted between January 1 and December 31, 2025. Payments are made quarterly upon proof by wage slips, at the earliest after the three-month probationary period has expired. Thus, the program offers a straightforward and effective subsidy for companies investing in dual apprenticeship training and actively contributing to strengthening the Viennese labor market.
