Description

The Immler Extended Family Foundation supports large families in Baden-Württemberg with at least three minor children who live together with grandparents in a multi-generational house and thus wish to realize cross-generational support. For each family, the foundation enables the construction and rental of independent residential units under one roof at a symbolic rent of one euro. This creates affordable housing and relieves middle-income families who are under financial pressure due to high living costs. The close proximity of young and old simultaneously strengthens cohesion within the family unit: grandparents take on caregiving tasks, children benefit from the experience of the elderly, and mothers gain greater flexibility when returning to work. Funding is provided for construction costs of the multi-generational house, maintenance costs, and caregiving services.

The foundation continuously offers grants and bases its allocation on criteria such as the number of children, financial need, and active participation in community life. Requirements include residence in the Isny region in the Allgäu, willingness to live in the family unit, as well as a cover letter, proof of family (birth certificates), and proof of income. Applications can be submitted at any time. Through the combination of affordable housing, cross-generational care, and educational support, the Immler Extended Family Foundation makes an important contribution to securing demographic and social balance and supports families in growing together within a cooperative multi-generational model.
