Description

The Oberst Schöttler Injured Foundation (OSVS) continuously provides nationwide financial grants and support services for severely wounded or psychologically traumatized soldiers, police officers, civilian helpers, as well as members of the fire brigade, Federal Agency for Technical Relief, and disaster control. Since its founding in 2007, the foundation has offered prompt, unbureaucratic assistance in the form of medical care, psychosocial support, and coverage of legal fees. Survivors of deceased emergency personnel are also eligible for funding. Applications can be submitted at any time, provided that an operational accident abroad or domestically is proven, a severe injury or PTSD is present, or membership in the group of blue-light emergency services is demonstrated. Allocation is based on the criteria of severity of the operational injury, proof of the accident event, and urgency of the need for assistance.

The funding primarily covers rehabilitation aids, therapy costs, funeral subsidies, in-kind donations, and legal advisory expenses. The OSVS aims to sustainably relieve those affected by operational injuries and their relatives, improve the quality of life of those affected, and promote civil society participation. Through continuous support and organized collaboration with specialist attorneys and medical experts, the foundation makes an important contribution to the social and health care of those who have suffered injuries in the service of the state and society.
