Description

The allocation of proceeds from the Environmental and Development Lottery strengthens non-profit actors in Schleswig-Holstein in implementing forward-looking projects in the fields of nature, environmental and animal protection, environmental education, development cooperation, global learning, energy efficiency, as well as agriculture and rural development. Eligible for funding are public institutions, associations, initiatives, non-profit limited liability companies (gGmbH), associations and private law foundations, as well as church bodies with a scope of activity in the state. With a funding amount of up to 85% of eligible costs and a maximum project duration of 24 months, concepts are supported that make a sustainable contribution in line with the 2030 Agenda and have a clear regional reference to Schleswig-Holstein.

Applicants must demonstrate selfless activity and a minimum own contribution of 15%. Project outlines may not exceed two years and must start within one year of approval. Excluded are legally mandated compensatory measures, institutional basic funding, classic humanitarian aid, as well as optional expert reports or studies without concrete practical relevance. Funding is granted on an ongoing basis; the approval decision is usually made within two to four months after the complete submission of the application. This funding instrument makes an important contribution to strengthening a future-oriented environmental and development policy project landscape in Schleswig-Holstein.
