Description

The funding initiative aims to strengthen internal security in Vienna through targeted networking and collaboration among stakeholders from business, science, society, and authorities. The focus is on key thematic areas such as digital security, cybercrime, protection of critical infrastructures, blackout preparedness, as well as preventive measures in crime and violence prevention. As a funding measure, a grant is provided, which is open to companies, public institutions, interest groups, associations, or cooperatives. This funding can be applied for continuously and supports projects that include regional or nationwide networking events, specialist workshops, target group-oriented information and discussion formats, simulation exercises, as well as the creation of informational materials. The goal is to effectively pool existing expert potentials and establish new cooperations for enhanced security throughout the entire federal territory.

A written funding application is required for submission; furthermore, extensive experience in relevant internal security fields, access to recognized experts from all involved sectors, and organizational capacities for implementing measures across Austria must be demonstrated. Own contributions are expected as a sign of sustainable project implementation. Particular attention is paid to ensuring that the planned activities make a concrete contribution to the prevention of cyber incidents, the protection of critical infrastructures, or violence prevention work. The funding period is unlimited, and applications can be submitted at any time. By involving diverse competence carriers, the level of public peace, order, and security is to be continuously expanded.
