Description
The financial support "Full Education in Socio-Educational Institutions" enables non-profit organizations and companies in Carinthia to provide full-time care for children and adolescents at risk to their welfare in suitable socio-educational facilities. The goal is to prevent endangerment to the child's welfare when care outside the family environment becomes necessary. The service is compensated by a flat daily rate and can be supplemented by additional costs in cases of recognized extra needs – for example, therapeutic services. Privately operated providers of child and youth welfare offer accommodation and education within the framework of this measure, with financing provided through subsidies from the state.
Prerequisites for funding include a determined risk to the child's welfare up to the age of 18 that can only be averted through care outside the family, the main residence or habitual abode of the affected person in Carinthia, as well as the transfer of care and education to the child and youth welfare provider in accordance with §§ 15 and 40 K-KJHG. Applications can be submitted year-round; in addition to an informal application, proof of income of the maintenance obligors must be submitted. The measure has been valid without time limitation since January 1, 2014, and is accompanied by professional supervision and financial audits. Interested institutions and providers can obtain further information from Department 4 – Family Support, Child Protection, and Child and Youth Welfare – of the Office of the Carinthian State Government.
