Funding Instrument for Sustainable Forestry in Vorarlberg
The Vorarlberg Forest Fund supports forestry measures throughout Vorarlberg – from processing damaged timber to biological forest protection methods, as well as natural regeneration and establishment of protective forests. Eligible for funding are private individuals, cooperatives, public institutions, companies, and other organizations. In particular, private and municipal forest owners, agricultural communities, forest cooperatives, as well as individuals or associations conducting horse-drawn timber transport or biological protection measures, can apply for grants. The funding amount covers up to 100% of material costs, labor costs, and own contributions; exceptions include, for example, clearing of routes or own fill material, as well as maintenance costs in areas vulnerable to wildlife damage without an appropriate expert report. Applications can be submitted at any time through the responsible forest wardens, using the prescribed forms.
Objectives, Conditions, and Application Documents
The objective is the preservation and reforestation of damaged stands, the defense against harmful insects, the stabilization of protective forests, as well as the promotion of stand diversity and forest functionality. The funding has been ongoing since 01.01.2011 and is valid until revoked. For the application, aerial or site plans, project description, cost plausibility (comparable price information), confirmation from the forest warden, time sheets, as well as original invoices, measurement and payment proofs are required. This targeted funding instrument ensures rapid, economical, and resource-conserving forest protection.
