Description
The Frank Hirschvogel Foundation enables educational institutions in Bavaria to integrate virtual reality into everyday school life free of charge. Within the framework of the program "VR – Education, Training, Instruction," VR systems and specially developed learning programs are provided on a loan basis. Teachers and students aged 13 and above with intact motor and balance functions receive not only the hardware but also practical workshops: In 90-minute teacher sessions, the focus is on presenting various VR programs, device handling, and individual support, while students independently explore virtual learning environments in their own workshops. The offerings promote interactive and sustainable learning by making complex topics tangible through visualization and playful preparation, thereby reducing learning barriers.
The flexible loan of up to 20 VR headsets for two to three weeks allows location- and time-independent use – ideal for modern teaching. All schools and public educational providers aiming to implement innovative teaching methods on the topics of digitalization, vocational and further education, as well as STEM, are supported. Applications can be submitted at any time, and no financial contribution is required, as the loan and all workshops are provided free of charge. Through the combination of technical equipment and targeted training, the funding approach strengthens media literacy and motivates learners to engage intensively with educational content.
