Description
The Growth Program for Small Businesses in Salzburg supports small commercial enterprises with up to 20 employees (excluding apprentices, full-time equivalents) and membership in the Salzburg Chamber of Commerce in self- or externally financed investments. The aim is the sustainable strengthening of competitiveness and innovation through structural and mechanical modernizations as well as expansions, the introduction of new or improved products and services, and measures to extend the season in tourism and leisure businesses. A direct grant of 10% of the recognized investment costs is funded, relating to construction- and machinery-related improvements, operational equipment, and necessary intangible expenses. The funding assessment basis is limited to €40,000 net per project, and the minimum investment amount is €10,000 net. Ongoing operating resources, vehicles, and costs under €400 net are excluded.
Applications are submitted indefinitely and exclusively online before the start of the investment, as long as annual budget funds are available. Required documents include the business license, cost estimates or invoices, official permits including submission plans for construction measures, proof of commitments for additional funding, and, if applicable, powers of attorney when applications are submitted by representatives. Prerequisites for the grant are timely application submission, no legally binding penalty notices for intentional violations of labor and social law in the last 24 months, and compliance with the guideline criteria. Payment is made as a one-time premium upon submission of complete proof of use or confirmation by a qualified representative (e.g., tax advisor). Through transparent allocation guidelines and regular budget updates, the program contributes to promoting growth and securing competitiveness of small businesses in Salzburg.
