Description

Forest management, ecology, and accompanying measures promote forward-looking projects in Tyrol with a focus on environmental and nature conservation, climate protection, agriculture, and energy efficiency. Eligible for funding are private forest owners, agricultural communities, transport cooperatives, as well as forest owner associations and other natural or legal persons with forestry needs. The measure aims to sustainably strengthen the protective and recreational functions of the forest and to establish climate-resilient forest management. Emphasis is placed on site-appropriate regeneration processes, nature-based reforestation, and soil preparation, complemented by seed collection and targeted fertilization to optimize growth conditions.

Eligible accompanying measures also include maintenance activities in reforestation areas, construction of protective fences, and technical transport using cable cranes or helicopters to enable interventions in difficult-to-access areas. A prerequisite for funding is the demonstrated need for action in the forest areas and compliance with the valid forestry funding catalog. Applications have been accepted continuously and indefinitely since March 1, 2013; approval is granted after review of the funding application. Covered are flat rates, own contributions, in-kind and external services, as well as material costs. This broadly based support offers long-term planning security for sustainable forest protection and climate adaptation measures in Tyrol.
