Description

The funding initiative “Forest-Related Theme Trails/Educational Paths” in Tyrol is aimed at public institutions, interest groups, associations, and companies with projects in natural and recreational areas. The goal is to design extensive trails with a clear forest connection as themed routes or educational paths, to maintain the infrastructure permanently, and to guide visitors safely. Through nature-related educational offerings, a deeper understanding of environmental and nature conservation is fostered, while simultaneously considering aspects of energy efficiency, climate protection, and urban planning. Applicants benefit from an attractive funding rate of 50 – 70%, depending on accessibility and the focus on sustainable management. Submissions are possible at any time, as this is an ongoing funding opportunity.

A prerequisite for funding is a project with a clear connection to recreation and the forest, as well as compliance with the Landscape Service funding catalog. All measures must be freely accessible and available free of charge. Official permits must be obtained before the project begins, and implementation must be economical, purposeful, and efficient. For the application, a fully completed funding application, detailed project descriptions, usage agreements, as well as offers and cost preparation models must be submitted. Flat rates, in-kind contributions, services in kind, and material costs are eligible. After a positive funding commitment, a random on-site inspection accompanies the successful project progress. Since 01.03.2013, the program has been available indefinitely and strengthens sustainable recreational space design in the forest.
