Description
The funding supports forest education projects in Upper Austria under the motto “Learning from the Forest in the Forest” and makes an important contribution to environmental education for children and youth. Through a direct subsidy, the operating costs of the Forest School Linz and the Bohemian Forest School are financed to enable playful discovery journeys in the forest. The initiative promotes scientific understanding and fosters competencies in the areas of education for sustainable development, environmental and nature conservation, as well as climate protection. Public institutions thus continuously receive the necessary funds to implement experience-oriented programs and raise awareness among the younger generation about the importance of the forest as an ecosystem.
Interested institutions must submit an annual cost statement to receive the payment. Eligible for funding are exclusively public bodies operating the forest schools in Linz or Bohemian Forest. Eligible expenses include all ongoing operating costs required for educational operations and care services. Since this is an ongoing funding without an end date, there are no fixed deadlines – applications can be submitted at any time. This long-term planning security ensures that high-quality educational offerings in the forest can be continuously realized and that participants of all ages sustainably benefit from the forest education work.
