Description

The continuing education scholarship of the SBB Foundation for the Promotion of Talented Individuals in Vocational Education is aimed at young professionals who have completed a dual vocational training program under the BBiG, HwO, or in a federally regulated health profession with outstanding achievements. Over a period of up to 36 months, grants of up to €9,135 (funding rate: 90%) are awarded, which can be used for part-time continuing education, advanced training, professional qualifications, soft skills seminars, or a subsequent part-time degree program. Eligible expenses include participation and examination fees, travel and accommodation costs, necessary work materials, as well as a one-time IT bonus of €250. A prerequisite is employment of at least 15 hours per week or availability for the labor market in case of unemployment. The age limit is generally under 25 years (under 27 years for health professions, with exceptions).

Applicants who have completed dual vocational training should contact the responsible chamber or institution where the training contract was registered; health professionals submit their documents directly to the SBB. Selection criteria include an excellent examination grade (average grade ≤ 1.9), a placement among the top three in supraregional competitions, or a justified recommendation by the employer or vocational school. Submission deadlines vary depending on the chamber; for health professions, the deadline is February 15 each year. Decision-making processes are coordinated individually by the respective bodies. The scholarship offers motivated young professionals the opportunity to advance their vocational qualifications with financial support and to shape the next step in their career.
