Description
With the program "World in Balance!", the state of Tyrol promotes development policy education and awareness-raising efforts to harmonize global, regional, and local sustainability. Interested parties from various sectors – ranging from private individuals to companies and cooperatives, as well as foundations, non-profit organizations, advocacy groups, educational institutions, and public institutes – can apply for non-repayable grants of up to €100,000. The goal is an interactive, multisensory conveyance of development policy that actively involves children, youth, and adults in communities, schools, and other contexts. The activities aim to foster awareness of the need for action, motivate participants, and strengthen sustainable competencies, while being effective throughout Tyrol. Applications can be submitted at any time; the program has been running since January 2017 with no fixed end date.
A prerequisite for funding is a written application including a detailed project description as well as a cost and financing plan that complies with the state's guidelines and has a minimum budget of €500. Supported are initiatives with tangible and experiential concepts that address a broad, diverse target group and ensure sustainable continuation after the funding period ends. Submitted concepts are evaluated based on criteria such as target group sensitization, motivational impact, statewide reach, and innovative, interactive delivery. The jury makes its decision based on formal and substantive evaluation criteria. Projects should achieve long-term, sensually perceptible learning effects and contribute to everyday development competence. With this funding line, Tyrol sets an impetus for a future-oriented educational landscape and greater awareness of global challenges.
