Description

The West Thuringian Homeland Expert is aimed at educational institutions, non-profit associations, children and youth groups, as well as seniors in the West Thuringia operational area and subsidizes day trips with a clear educational purpose. Travel costs of up to €500 per tour can be covered, making regional excursions easier to realize. The goal is to promote cultural and nature-related learning experiences on site and to bring local offerings more into focus. The funding is provided in the form of a grant covering 100% of eligible travel costs – entrance fees or other expenses must be borne by the participants themselves. One tour per institution may be funded annually to enable access for as many groups as possible.

Applications can be submitted continuously but must be received at least three months before the excursion date. Funding requirements include day trips within West Thuringia and adherence to the cost limit. For approval, among other documents, the completed application, the transport company’s invoice, and proof of payment are required. The decision is made by the Board of Trustees of the West Thuringia Foundation based on the educational objective, budget availability, and timely submission of the application. Interested organizations are invited to prepare their applications and make the diversity of the region an experience for their groups.
