Competition "Youth Paints"

The statewide competition "Youth Paints" invites children and adolescents between the ages of 6 and 16 residing in Hesse to present their artistic perspective on the anniversary "80 Years of Hesse." Organized by the Children's Academy Fulda in cooperation with the Hessian Ministry of Science and Art, prize money will be awarded in various categories. The aim is to promote the creative expression of young people and to vividly showcase the diversity of the federal state through painting, drawing, or collage. The awarded works will be exhibited in June 2026 at the Hessentag in Fulda and subsequently presented to the public at other locations throughout Hesse.

Participation requires a portfolio of up to two artworks in a format of up to 0.80 × 1.00 m. Only two-dimensional painting and drawing works may be submitted; collages are permitted. The back of each artwork must include the name, age, address, gender, and a telephone number. Proper packaging and the inclusion of €0.95 postage stamps for return shipping are mandatory. The jury evaluates the submissions based on creativity, thematic relevance, and design quality in three age groups (6–8 years, 9–12 years, 13–16 years) and awards individual prizes as well as special awards for school classes.
