Description
The competition "Creative Minds" is aimed at students of secondary schools aged 13 to 19 from the regions of Bad Mergentheim, Tauberbischofsheim, Wertheim, and Neckarsulm. Within a three-month innovation cycle, self-developed STEM ideas – from mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology – are implemented in close cooperation with regional companies. After a jury selection, which evaluates based on creativity & innovation, resource conservation, technical implementation, market viability, and presentation, the selected teams receive professional support and prize money. A prerequisite for application is a brief description of the project idea via the online form at the beginning of the school year.
The funding objective is to strengthen the spirit of discovery and invention among young talents as well as to impart practical experience in everyday business operations. Through the mandatory kick-off meeting, participants get to know their mentors and jointly plan the implementation steps. This is followed by the prototypical realization under the guidance of experts from the region. The conclusion is a ceremonial award ceremony, where innovative solutions are honored and further networking opportunities are opened. This format offers ambitious students a practical introduction to research, development, and potential career prospects.
