Description

Since 2009, the “Wir in Olsberg” Foundation has been committed to sustainably strengthening the sense of community and civic engagement in the city of Olsberg. Using assets derived from an inheritance, the foundation pursues a common good-oriented approach that supports a variety of projects in the fields of education and upbringing, youth work, culture, monument preservation, sports, social concerns, as well as environmental and nature conservation. The projects are intended to serve as models and exemplars, promote innovative ideas, and help to reinforce existing structures. Initiatives that provide help for self-help and intensify local cohesion are supported. Funding is provided in the form of a grant, with particular emphasis placed on implementation on site in Olsberg.

Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations, interest groups, associations, companies, and, in exceptional cases, private individuals, whereby all proposals can be submitted by residents of Olsberg or local groups. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and require that the project be carried out in the city of Olsberg and align with the foundation’s statutory objectives. For example, commercial events or political projects may not be funded. Applications must include, among other things, a cover sheet, a detailed structure of the funding application, and an informational flyer. The foundation places great importance on projects that work with volunteers, actively involve the local community, and have the potential to serve as a source of inspiration for further initiatives. The funding concept is aimed at ideas that sustainably accompany the cultural, social, and ecological progress of the region and pave the way for future projects.
