Description
The “Economic Support Measures within the Framework of District Alliances for Economy and Labor” fund non-investive infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening regional economic capacity in the Berlin districts. The funding body is the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Enterprises, which provides ERDF funds for targeted concepts, city and location marketing, as well as network development. Examples of funded projects include strategic inventories, cooperative marketing activities, and innovative resource conservation projects by social enterprises, start-ups, and SMEs. A particular focus lies on the development of district alliances that advance crisis management, relocation support, and profile building through targeted location management. The funding rate is 40% of eligible expenses, up to a maximum of €300,000 per project. Applications can be submitted at any time via the responsible district offices, with the condition that the project start may only occur after the application has been submitted and the total duration must not exceed five years.
The target groups include small and medium-sized enterprises in the commercial sector as well as founders who wish to increase their competitiveness through network formation and cooperation projects. A prerequisite for funding is integration into a district alliance for economy and labor as well as compliance with ERDF guidelines. Public institutions as defined by the district offices may submit applications continuously without fixed deadlines. With this initiative, the State of Berlin aims to promote sustainable urban and location development and strengthen regional value chains in order to increase the productivity of local companies in the long term. Interested municipal administrations can obtain detailed information and application documents through their district offices.
