Description
The funding program Economic Proximity Electromobility (WELMO) of the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Enterprises is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises as well as self-employed persons with headquarters or business premises in Berlin. The goal is the sustainable conversion of commercial vehicle fleets to battery-electric or fuel cell drives and the expansion of private and publicly accessible charging infrastructure. Additionally, potential and implementation consultations are available to analyze mobility needs, identify CO₂ reduction potentials, and clarify the technical and economic framework conditions for fleet integration, grid connection, and sector coupling.
Funding is provided, among other things, for
– acquisition or leasing of electric vehicles (passenger cars, commercial vehicles, motorized two-wheelers, electric inclusion taxis) with grants of up to 35% of eligible expenses (max. €25,000 per inclusion taxi),
– installation and leasing of stationary charging points (AC up to 22 kW: 50% up to €2,500 per charging point; DC from 22 kW: 50% up to €30,000 per charging point) as well as grid connection costs (SSP/NSP: 50% up to €55,000 per location),
– consulting costs up to 80% of net expenses (max. €1,000 daily rate).
Applications are submitted electronically on a first-come, first-served basis until 31 December 2027 or until funds are exhausted; after positive review, funding is granted in the form of a non-repayable grant. Required documents include, among others, copies of offers for vehicles, charging infrastructure, and consulting services, proof of commercial or trade registration, as well as declarations regarding de minimis and AGVO aid. This enables Berlin companies to modernize their mobility fleets in a climate-friendly manner while simultaneously achieving efficiency improvements.
