Description
Housing assistance in Styria promotes mobile care and support services for adults with intellectual, physical, sensory, or multiple disabilities who already live independently or are seeking to do so. As a grant program for non-profit organizations, it ensures accompaniment by qualified housing assistants in all matters related to independent living. The goal is to strengthen independence, personal development, and self-responsibility, while reducing dependence on external help. At the same time, knowledge about rights and obligations is imparted to sustainably shape assisted living and promote help towards self-help. Billing is based on a written service contract with the Styrian State Government; the funding agency is Department 11 – Social Affairs, Labor, and Integration.
The funding offer is exclusively aimed at private disability aid institutions with a valid service approval and written contract. A prerequisite for support is the voluntary decision for assisted living, cooperative collaboration with the housing assistants, as well as sufficient practical life skills and the ability to organize necessary assistance independently if required. Applications can be submitted continuously without a fixed deadline (valid until revoked). Non-profit organizations that meet the framework conditions receive financial support for the implementation of housing assistance in Styria and thereby make a significant contribution to the participation and housing stability of people with disabilities.
