Funding objective
Support for private individuals in Baden-Württemberg in the initial installation, expansion, modernization, or retrofitting of photovoltaic systems and the installation of electricity storage at residential buildings through a long-term, low-interest loan to promote the spread of renewable energies and energy efficiency in the building sector.

- PV system (roof-mounted/facade/garage or carport) including battery storage
- Planning and project design
- Preparatory necessary construction measures
- Installation and connection to the public power grid
- Other costs related to PV system or storage (e.g., wallbox, metering equipment)
Non-eligible expenses
- PV systems with a total output exceeding 30 kWp
- Systems on buildings with more than 3 residential units
- Systems for holiday homes, weekend houses, or second residences
- From 01.01.2025 installation of standalone boilers using fossil fuels
- Refinancing or additional financing of already completed projects

Description
The program "Living with the Future: Photovoltaics" by L-Bank offers private individuals residing in Baden-Württemberg a long-term, low-interest loan for the initial installation, expansion, or modernization of photovoltaic systems including battery storage at their residential property. With a funding rate of up to 100% of eligible expenses, it supports the energy-efficient upgrading of both existing buildings and new constructions alike. The financing covers technical components (roof-mounted, facade, or carport solutions as well as storage), planning and project costs, preparatory construction measures, installation and grid connection, as well as supplementary expenses such as wallboxes or metering devices. Combined with the feed-in tariff under the EEG, the loan makes a sustainable contribution to the expansion of renewable energies and CO₂ reduction in the building sector.
Eligible applicants are private individuals with their primary residence in Baden-Württemberg who occupy at least one residential unit themselves and ensure professional installation by a qualified company. Compliance with German environmental and social standards as well as fulfillment of technical requirements for grid feed-in are prerequisites. Systems over 30 kWp, projects on buildings with more than three residential units, projects for holiday or secondary residences, and refinancing of already completed investments are excluded. Applications can be submitted at any time before the start of the measure through the applicant’s house bank; the required documents include the program information sheet, the product information sheet, and a final proof of use.
