Description

In the Vienna region, the Fonds Soziales Wien supports residential households that combine a familiar living environment with professional care for individuals in need of nursing and support. Based on an innovative household concept, small living groups are created with a shared kitchen and manageable common areas. Continuity is ensured by everyday companions who actively involve residents in daily routines such as cooking or laundry care, thereby promoting everyday normality and social participation. The unlimited subsidy allows privately organized residential care and nursing facilities to plan flexibly and further develop their services. The funding aims to enable people in need of nursing and support to live as independently as possible within manageable structures and to compensate for gaps in home care.

In addition to the costs of the residential and care facility, expenses for medical treatment, care, and therapeutic services are also funded. Prerequisites include a care need that can no longer be met at home, at least care allowance level 2 or a social indication according to the Vienna Social Assistance Act, main residence or actual stay in Vienna, as well as Austrian citizenship or equivalence. Income and asset situation, social indications, and the capacities of the chosen facility are included in an individual case assessment by the Fonds Soziales Wien. For the application, among other documents, registration certificate, proof of care allowance level, current medical report (no older than 6 months), income statements, social insurance number, proof of citizenship, as well as rent and operating cost statements must be submitted. Applications can be submitted at any time; the funding decision is made promptly.
