Description
The Social Fund Vienna (FSW) supports the provision of inpatient care places for people in need of care with their main residence in Vienna through continuous grants, where home care from care allowance level 3 no longer covers the need. Accommodation and care costs in recognized residential and care facilities are funded, with medical care as needed and professional support services being central. The measure is aimed at those in need of care from care allowance level 3 or those whose need has been determined by the FSW. The goal is the permanent assurance and improvement of care in facilities, including for special care requirements such as dementia care or persistent vegetative state.
The funding is provided as a grant towards ongoing costs; applications can be submitted at any time on a continuous basis. Requirements include, among others, proof of care allowance level, a current medical report, income statements, registration certificate, as well as proof of citizenship or equivalence. The amount of the monthly cost contribution is based on income and care allowance and is collected directly by the FSW. Changes in care needs or financial situation must be reported immediately. Clients commit to partially reimbursing any funding in the event of non-use or premature departure. Through the provision of inpatient care places, people in need of care in Vienna can be comprehensively cared for in the long term and relatives relieved.
