Description
The Wolfgang Kögler Music Scholarship is aimed at students in their initial degree program as well as prospective students at universities in East Westphalia-Lippe (OWL) who demonstrate outstanding musical achievements and are in proven financial or personal hardship. The Talentengel Ulrike and Wolfgang Kögler Foundation awards up to two scholarships per year with a maximum amount of €4,800 annually. This is intended to cover living expenses and study costs to ensure a smooth course of study. The scholarship duration is 12 months, with applications accepted on a rolling basis.
Requirements for a successful application include enrollment in an initial degree program at an OWL university or proof of intent to study, at least satisfactory academic performance combined with very good musical achievements, as well as special awards in the field of music. The standard period of study and double funding limits (max. €30 monthly) must not be exceeded. Evaluation is based on exceptional musical abilities, academic potential, commitment, and formal completeness of the documents. Application submission must include a motivation letter, curriculum vitae, recent photo, proof of university entrance qualification, enrollment certificate, academic records, musical qualifications, financial documents, and, if applicable, BAföG notice. Selection is made through document review and recommendation by a foundation advisory board, followed by a personal interview. This scholarship provides sustainable financial and ideal support for talented musicians in NRW whose studies would otherwise be at risk.
