Description

Young Makers Mobilab is a mobile educational program in Vienna that imparts basic digital skills to disadvantaged and vulnerable youth aged 14 to 21. In freely bookable module blocks, participants engage playfully with technologies such as 3D printing, robotics, stop-motion film, or basic programming. Additionally, essential topics such as internet security, data protection, and online communication are addressed. By directly reaching out in youth centers, AusbildungsFit measures, or during the search for apprenticeships, the digital gap is reduced and interest in technology-related content is sustainably sparked. Sponsor: Volkshilfe Wien gemeinnützige Betriebs-GmbH in cooperation with the Vienna Employees Promotion Fund (waff), duration 01.01.2024–31.03.2026 (27 months).

The funding amount covers the actual costs incurred up to the maximum limit fixed in the funding contract (100% funding rate). Only non-profit organizations are eligible to apply. A detailed project description and a financial plan must be submitted with the application. Disbursement is made according to the contractual agreements in the funding contract. The goal is to provide disadvantaged youth with practical access to digital tools and to empower them as competent actors in the digital transformation. The waff supports the project at no cost to the target group and contributes to the long-term improvement of career prospects in youth promotion in Vienna.
