The goal of the ongoing funding period 2021–2027 is to increase energy efficiency, intelligently integrate renewable energies, and achieve a noticeable reduction in CO₂ emissions. With the introduction of simplified cost options (VKO), the submission of individual invoices is no longer required, enabling applicants to handle the process more easily. As a grant program with continuously open application submission, ZEP-municipal Renovation supports flexible renovation and modernization projects aimed at climate-friendly municipal infrastructure development.
Eligible are investment costs for energy renovation measures on building envelopes, heating and ventilation technology, intelligent energy management systems, as well as photovoltaic and solar thermal systems. Applicants submit the following documents via the electronic funding portal: the fully completed online application, the technical minimum requirements (Annex 1), the determination of eligible expenses (Annex 2), the area verification (Annex 3), the U-value verification (Annex 4), the CO₂ savings calculation (Annex 5), and the BNBest regulations (Annex 6).
