The initiative is aimed at non-profit and public operators of child education and care facilities in Styria, in order to specifically promote investment and personnel costs. The focus is on creating additional childcare places, extending daily and annual opening hours, and improving the caregiver-to-child ratio. Thus, the program contributes to strengthening innovative care models, relieving families, and promoting the compatibility of work and family life. The funding has been available indefinitely since February 2015 and supports the professionalization of educational specialists in the fields of children and youth, social affairs, education, as well as training and further education. The funding measures must be completed by June 30, 2027 at the latest and lay the foundation for high-quality and needs-oriented care for children and youth.
Eligible to apply are operators of institutional facilities with at least ten years of operational experience. Approval of the measures by the state government and proof of all incurred construction and personnel costs are required for the grant approval. Submission takes place prior to the implementation of measures within defined call periods. Only investment and personnel costs are funded; the application requires the completed form, a cost estimate according to ÖNORM B 1801-1, salary proofs, original invoices with payment receipts, and operational data. For investment cost subsidies, timely final accounting must be ensured by June 30, 2027, and for personnel cost subsidies by October 10, 2027. Extensions of these deadlines are excluded.
