Description

In Carinthia, companies, public institutions, and non-profit organizations can continuously access government subsidies for the wage costs of people with disabilities. Objective: To maintain or newly fill a job position in the open labor market, provided there is no parallel funding from the AMS or the Social Ministry Service. According to § 11 para. 2 K-ChG, the payment is made directly to the employers. The subsidy covers a percentage of the wage assessment basis for 12 months up to a specified maximum limit. Since January 1, 2014, this indefinite measure has been available to all eligible institutions in Carinthia.

Application requirements: The application is submitted informally by the employer after the employee meets the definition of disability (§ 2 K-ChG) and the personal requirements according to § 5 K-ChG. Purely age-related functional impairments as well as psychological or chronic illnesses within the scope of Department 4 are excluded. Furthermore, no parallel benefit from the Social Ministry Service may be received. Prior to approval, a joint meeting takes place between the employer, employee, and Department 4 – Equal Opportunities. Only verified wage costs are subsidized; to be submitted are an informal application, a detailed statement of wage costs, information on other subsidies, and the current pay slip. Payments begin on the first day of the following month and are limited to 12 months. This program sustainably strengthens the professional prospects for people with disabilities.
