Description
The grant supports short-term care stays in recognized nursing and care homes in Upper Austria to relieve caregiving relatives and close care gaps during temporary care needs. Funding is provided for a residential stay of up to three months in inpatient facilities in accordance with § 64 of the Upper Austrian Social Assistance Act. The funding is provided by the State of Upper Austria within the framework of its social, health, and labor promotion efforts, thereby contributing to the attractiveness and comprehensive provision of short-term care services. The goal is to ensure that those in need of assistance are flexibly and adequately secured while relatives have time for rest or other obligations.
Eligible are privately insured persons with lawful and actual residence in Upper Austria whose income does not exceed certain maximum limits (double the standard compensation rate). The funding covers costs up to €37.11 per short-term care day for a maximum of 21 days per calendar year. Applications must be submitted within six months after the end of the stay to the Office of the Upper Austrian State Government, Directorate for Social Affairs and Health, Social Department. Required documents include the form SGD-So/E-61, current proof of income, registration confirmation, as well as the care home invoice with proof of payment. Payment is made as a one-time transfer to a domestic account; exceptions may be paid in cash. Provided that budget funds are allocated in the respective state budget, ongoing funding opportunities exist without a separate application deadline.
