Description
The grant from the Federal Ministry of the Interior to the Austrian Civil Protection Association (ÖZSV) supports, as a subsidy, the strengthening of disaster resilience among the population in the Vienna area. Eligible for funding are exclusively non-profit interest groups or other associations that enter into a funding agreement pursuant to § 4 para. 7 of the Rescue and Civil Protection Organizations Support Act. Applications can be submitted continuously and have been accepted since 01.01.2024; no fixed end date is planned. This continuous funding opportunity ensures that the ÖZSV can reliably expand and maintain its comprehensive network in the field of civil protection information and awareness.
The funding objective focuses on increasing the general disaster resilience of the population. This includes imparting knowledge and skills for self-preparedness as well as promoting the concept of self-protection within the framework of civil national defense. Long-established experts within the ÖZSV context develop and implement training sessions, workshops, and information campaigns that enable participants to confidently manage crisis situations. With this funding initiative, the Federal Ministry supports the sustainable strengthening of voluntary structures and places an emphasis on responsible hazard prevention in urban areas.
