Description

In Tyrol, non-profit organizations have continuous funding opportunities in the areas of animal welfare, energy efficiency, and climate protection. Non-repayable grants support both ongoing operating costs of animal shelters – such as veterinary, feed, and care expenses – as well as investments for the construction and maintenance of animal welfare facilities. Furthermore, costs for "Pet Buddy" courses and other informational and educational offerings can be funded to raise awareness in schools, kindergartens, and the general public. The goal is the sustainable protection of the life and well-being of lost, abandoned, or officially confiscated animals, as well as the improvement of energy efficiency in the facilities.

The target group includes animal shelters and animal welfare facilities throughout Tyrol, which are operated by qualified personnel in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act (Federal Law Gazette I No. 118/2004). A prerequisite for funding is, on the one hand, proof of professional qualification and animal welfare services, and on the other hand, a project outline for planned investments or an informal funding application explaining the financial needs for ongoing operations. Applications can be submitted year-round; decisions on approval and disbursement are made quarterly. This funding instrument not only ensures the sustainable support of the daily work of animal welfare organizations but also contributes to climate protection and energy savings in the facilities.
