Description
The program of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania grants private individuals with their primary residence in the state, who live in rental apartments, a non-repayable subsidy of up to 500 EUR for the purchase and installation of plug-and-play photovoltaic systems (mini balcony power plants). The aim of the funding is to expand renewable energies and enable independent partial supply. New acquisitions with a connection capacity of 200 W to 600 W, acquired and commissioned after 07.11.2022, are eligible for funding. The program strengthens the commitment of climate-conscious tenants and creates incentives for private investments in sustainable energy solutions.
A prerequisite for approval is registration with the grid operator and in the market master data register, as well as the consent of the landlords or the homeowners' association and, if applicable, the monument protection authority. The system must remain in ownership for at least two years; economic use or EEG remuneration is excluded. Applications must be submitted after complete installation and include the completed application form, copies of the invoice, photo of the mounted PV system, identity card, and EC card statement. Selection is made in the chronological order of complete applications received until 31.12.2025 or until budget funds are exhausted. Processing is carried out by the State Development Institute Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
