Description

The Cultural Funding Guideline – KultFöRL M-V supports private and public sponsors as well as cultural practitioners in implementing cultural projects in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Funding is provided for measures of basic cultural provision such as music and youth art schools, libraries, and socio-cultural centers, as well as for supraregional and statewide significant projects. Institutions with year-round operational needs can additionally receive a grant to cover ongoing basic expenses. Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant with a project duration of up to 24 months. Applications must be submitted by October 1 of the previous year before the start of the project.

Eligible to apply are natural persons, associations, educational institutions, and public institutions with headquarters or branches in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The funding rates range between 30 and 70 percent depending on the funding area and cover eligible expenses such as personnel costs, fees, rental expenses, or acquisition budgets for libraries. Prerequisites include payment of the statutory minimum wage or industry-standard fees, an appropriate own contribution, third-party participation, and a demonstrable statewide or cultural-political added value. Special provisions apply to children and youth art schools, music schools, libraries, and socio-cultural institutions. Commercial, profit-oriented projects as well as predominantly internal encounter events are excluded. The aim of the guideline is the sustainable strengthening of the regional cultural landscape and the expansion of social participation through innovative cultural work.
