Description

The program “Grants for the Construction of Cycling, Hiking, and Mountain Trails with Accompanying Facilities” in Tyrol supports the sustainable development of recreational and leisure areas through financial subsidies. The objective is the creation, renewal, and outfitting of cycling, hiking, and mountain trails, including accompanying infrastructure such as rest areas, signage systems, and barrier-free access points. Additionally, visitor management and traffic control measures as well as innovative climbing projects are promoted. With a funding rate of 40% of the eligible net costs, the project contributes to optimizing regional infrastructure and strengthens gentle tourism throughout Tyrol.

Eligible applicants include local authorities, tourism associations, municipal planning associations, clubs, and companies implementing projects of supraregional significance in the public interest. A prerequisite is the submission of a complete project plan within the framework of recreational area development and compliance with the Landscape Service funding catalog. Construction and renovation costs for trail networks, accompanying facilities, visitor management measures, and climbing projects are funded. Funding applications, including a detailed project description, can be submitted continuously since March 1, 2013; there is no deadline. Final approval is granted after verification of all requirements, and proper implementation is monitored on-site by regional advisors.
