Description
The funding program of the State of Lower Saxony is aimed at public institutions, non-profit organizations, municipalities, and associations that wish to establish or modernize technology and start-up centers. It supports capital expenditures such as planning, construction, ancillary construction costs, and deliveries or services for initial equipment with grants of up to 40% in more developed regions (MDR) and up to 60% in transition regions (TR). Additionally, it promotes tailored investments in terms of climate adaptation and circular economy. A needs-based concept is required in advance, which includes objectives, offerings, business and fee policies, as well as an economic feasibility calculation. The infrastructure must be made available to new founders and technology-oriented young companies openly and without discrimination. For approval, the application documents must be submitted via the NBank customer portal before the project start and are evaluated according to a scoring model. Sustainability aspects, economic efficiency, and regional demand are equally considered in the decision-making process.
Prerequisites for funding include a project location in Lower Saxony, submission of a detailed spatial program, as well as evidence of the financing plan and environmental protection measures. Non-eligible costs include land acquisition costs, interest on debt, in-kind contributions by the sponsor, as well as expenses for renovation, repairs, and event celebrations. Disbursement is made on a reimbursement basis.
