General Budget Funding Area – We Promote Diversity!

In the funding area General Budget of the Baden-Württemberg Nature Conservation Fund Foundation, funding is awarded within the framework of "We Promote Diversity!" for nature conservation and biodiversity projects from the general budget. Project sponsors based or with project locations in Baden-Württemberg – including non-profit organizations, public institutions, foundations, and research institutions – can apply for a grant of up to 50,000 euros for initiatives in the fields of environmental/nature conservation, climate protection, research & innovation, education for sustainable development, energy efficiency, and training and further education. The management usually decides within three months after receipt of all complete documents. Applicants must clearly assign their activities to the nature conservation or biodiversity sector and meet the funding requirements.

Examples of funded projects include application-oriented research on the threat status of endangered species, concepts for practical communication of sustainable action competencies, as well as nature-based approaches to climate change adaptation, for instance in peatland and water management. The call for proposals for the following year will start in July 2026 and will once again offer interested parties the opportunity to implement innovative projects for the preservation and promotion of biological diversity in Baden-Württemberg. The initiative is aimed at all those who wish to contribute to the preservation of native natural habitats through effective measures and interdisciplinary approaches.
