Description

Nationwide earmarked grants strengthen hospice and palliative care in Austria. With funds from the Hospice and Palliative Fund, the federal government, together with the states, promotes a comprehensive, needs-based service according to uniform quality criteria. The goal is to competently support palliative patients and their relatives through tailored support services in mobile and inpatient facilities. This ensures that services remain both accessible and affordable, effectively complementing general basic care.

Eligible for funding are non-profit associations and organizations that plan, establish, or operate mobile palliative and pediatric palliative teams, palliative consultation services, hospice and pediatric hospice teams, day hospices, as well as inpatient hospices. Applications can be submitted continuously from January 1, 2022, until the funding volume is exhausted. Approval requires a project description or operational concept, a financing plan, proof of use, and evidence of compliance with the criteria set forth in the Hospice and Palliative Fund Act regarding planning, financing, quality, and documentation. Interested providers can thus utilize appropriate funding to expand existing care structures or initiate innovative care projects.
