Akademie Schloss Solitude
About the funder
The Akademie Schloss Solitude is an international artist-in-residence program in Stuttgart that has supported more than 1,700 young artists and scholars from over 120 countries since 1990. As a public law foundation, it is financed through grants from the state of Baden-Württemberg. On the historic castle grounds, 42 furnished living and working studios as well as additional workshops, a library, and event spaces are available. The academy offers scholarships in various fields of practice – from visual arts, performing arts, music and sound to architecture, design, literature, digital art, and science. It promotes focused work, interdisciplinary exchange, and international networking in an open, diverse environment. Public events such as exhibitions, readings, and symposia create international visibility for the fellows.
