Alde Kerk Stiftung

The Alde Kerk Foundation is a church foundation of the St. Petri-Pauli parish in Soest. It was established to create additional sources of income in view of declining church funds and to preserve the historic fabric of the church buildings. The foundation does not invest its principal capital but exclusively uses the proceeds for projects in the areas of monument preservation, church music, children and youth work, kindergarten projects, and diaconal tasks. Since its founding, it has regularly supported projects with an average volume of €20,000 per year and supports both recurring activities (e.g., confirmation trips, youth worker, youth choir, healthy breakfast) as well as exceptional restorations and construction measures.

The Alde Kerk Foundation aims to secure the community work of the St. Petri-Pauli parish in the long term and to preserve the historic fabric of its churches. By maintaining the core endowment, annual revenues are generated that flow directly into projects and restorations. The foundation seeks to promote the diversity of church activities – from child and youth support to church music and diaconal assistance in emergencies – and to preserve the cultural identity of the parish.

The funding measures of the Alde Kerk Foundation are primarily aimed at the members and institutions of the St. Petri-Pauli parish in Soest. This includes: children and young people (e.g., confirmands, youth choir, kindergarten), adults and elderly parish members (e.g., barrier-free access), support associations and volunteers in church music and parish work, heritage conservation authorities and restorers in repair projects, as well as all donors and benefactors who wish to do good in the long term.
