Alexander Gruner Stiftung

The Alexander Gruner Foundation is a non-profit funding foundation based in Hamburg. Since its establishment in 2018, it has supported selected organizations, associations, and projects that act in accordance with the intentions of its founder, Alexander Gruner. Its funds are primarily directed towards combating inequality and poverty, educational programs—especially for girls and women—as well as research initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions of disadvantaged people. Furthermore, it promotes civic engagement, democratic participation, and social cohesion. The foundation currently operates exclusively as a pure funding foundation.

The Alexander Gruner Foundation is committed to translating the values and principles of its founder into concrete projects and initiatives. Our goal is to combat inequality and poverty through targeted funding, expand educational opportunities for girls and women, and strengthen research and civic engagement. We believe that sustainable change arises through collaborative support and trusting cooperation with locally rooted organizations.

The funding programs of the Alexander Gruner Foundation are aimed at non-profit organizations, associations, and initiatives in Germany as well as in southern and eastern Africa. Special target groups include projects for poverty alleviation, educational programs for girls and women, research projects with direct benefits for disadvantaged populations, and initiatives to strengthen civic engagement and democracy.
