About the funder

The Alfred Flakowski Foundation is a legally recognized foundation under civil law, established in 1993 with an endowment of over five million Deutsche Mark. Named after Alfred Flakowski, it primarily supports projects in Brandenburg an der Havel and the surrounding area in the fields of child, youth, and elderly care, health and social services, monument preservation, art and culture, as well as assistance for people who rely on help due to their physical, mental, or emotional condition. A central project is the "House of Generations," a meeting place for young and old, which houses, among others, the Adult Education Center and the Academy for the Second Half of Life.

Mission & Vision

The Alfred Flakowski Foundation is committed to strengthening social cohesion and cultural diversity in Brandenburg an der Havel and its surroundings. Target groups

Non-profit and social initiatives in the city of Brandenburg an der Havel and its immediate surroundings are supported. This includes children, adolescents, and elderly people, individuals with physical, mental, or emotional impairments, non-profit associations and cultural institutions, as well as monument preservation projects. The foundation supports both individuals in emergency situations and associations and organizations that implement innovative and intergenerational projects.
